ABOUT ME
Dr. Leslie-Ann Williams is a board-certified physician, philanthropist and multi-talented artist, who wields her talent as a painter, actress and writer. She has forged a path for herself in the worlds of both medicine, business and art. A best-selling author, award winning actor, and ministry worship leader, 2020 was a year where she became more intentional in her art expression.
Dr. Williams earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Biochemistry and Microbiology. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Education where she had a particular interest in transformative pedagogy and Performance Arts. Dr. Williams received her medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a physician, Dr. Williams is founder and CEO of Healing Wings International, a primary care practice that addressed health disparities in the US Virgin Islands and surrounding territories. She is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and a catalyst for the formation of the Caribbean Chapter of the ACP. As a philanthropist, Dr. Williams, founded Healing Wings International Foundation which provides much needed supplies and service to the Caribbean islands during natural and human disasters. As a leader and visionary, she has served on many boards, committees, and a Governor’s taskforce.
Dr. Williams started and moderates support groups for practicing female physicians around the United States and world. She is compassionate about helping others realize the ultimate in their potential and thus spends precious moments coaching and counseling other professionals. Dr. Williams is featured in several publications, and notably "Against All Odds: Celebrating Black Women In Medicine”. She is an Amazon Best Selling author of On Becoming: Pearls of Wisdom from my Journey into Womanhood. Her devotional On the Wall: A Devotional for Medical Professionals was released in November 2020. She is a sort after workshop leader and speaker at conferences, corporations and medical schools. An ambassador in her own right, Dr. Williams has travelled to several countries on all continents except Antarctica sharing her medical expertise and joie de vivre.
Born of Grenadian and Trinidadian heritage and growing up in the culture-rich streets of Pashley Street, Laventille, her passion for the arts is embedded deep in her soul. It informs her approach in life, including medicine, faith and art.
